Title:  On reticulation-visible networks.

Abstract: Reticulation-visible networks are a large class phylogenetic networks, which contains galled trees, galled networks, and child-tree networks.This talk covers the speaker's recent work on the algorithmic and combinatorial aspects of reticulation-visible networks. 

Louxin Zhang studied mathematics at Lanzhou University, earning his B.S. and M.S. degrees, and studied computer science at the University of Waterloo, where he received his Ph.D in 1996. Since then he has actively published in genomics sequences, phylogenetics and protein networks, authoring several influential papers.  He has served on the program committees of international conferences including RECOMB, ISMB and ECCB. He is currently a professor of computational biology at the National University of Singapore.
